It was not a defeat. It was a winning.

It was not a defeat. It was a winning.

ICC Cricket Worldcup 2015 is currently heading to its final match. After the knockout matches of semi-finals, Australia and New Zealand who are also host teams of the worldcup will compete for the title of World Champion. Australia, a country who has won the title 4 times or New Zealand, who has entered in the final for the first time. Since the worldcup has started, it’s been seen that New Zealand has been very passionate for winning the title. They’ve won each match they’ve played and entered in the final. Now we’ve to watch who would win the worldcup.

Two semi-final matches were the epic matches in the history of ICC. The first semi-final match was played between New Zealand and South Africa. It was an epic match. And undoubtedly, New Zealand beat South Africa. But it was memorable match, as there was a chance of South Africa’s winning till the last over. South Africa bat first and they played about 38 overs flawlessly and it was a good play. Then the cloudy weather started raining. And due to the D/L Method, ICC announced the match of 43 overs. It was a terrible decision which was in favour of South Africa. They lost their 7 overs at the very last moment. And they had to forget all the plans which were decided for the last overs. And they abandoned those plans. Still they put great target against New Zealand. But New Zealand was heading for the title and they knew it was a great opportunity to show themselves to the world. And they fought bravely. They tried to chase the score. And finally, they did it. They won. But they won on the last moment. Maybe it’s something that was not in favour of South Africa that day, and they had to lose. But they didn’t lose their hope till the last moment. They tried their best to win with passion, but it was bad day and New Zealand played greatly. Maybe the result could be different if the match was played in normal circumstances and weather. Maybe South Africa could’ve done it. But unfortunately, they lost. New Zealand won the match. And hearts of full of passion popped out with tears. South African Captain AB De Villiers cried in the ground. So did Morkel and other players. It was not because they lost, but it was because they tried their best and hard, but still they had to admit the defeat. For the legendary player like AB De Villiers who worked hard and led his team to win the title, had to admit the defeat. He had to take all the responsibilities of that defeat on his own shoulders. And as I said, he is the legend. At the conference, he neither mentioned about rain nor about D/L Method as a reason behind the defeat. He just said, “THE BETTER TEAM WON.” And yes, seeing tears in this legend’s eyes, million people cried. Every cricket fan felt sad for this guy. Perhaps we can’t imagine that feeling. Maybe we can say how he felt bad. But he is a captain, a leader. And he had to take many things on his own. We can’t imagine how a captain feels when he loses his chance. It was the first semi-final. New Zealand did their job very well.

On the second semi-final which was played between India and Australia, the history repeated. Australia won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 328 bravely. It was a marvellous inning played by Australian Players. India couldn’t chase that vast score. Their main hope was middle order batsmen, who failed to score. Though Captain MS Dhoni played a great inning, India lost their chance. No matter what was the reason, it feels bad when fans blame on the players. Initially MS Dhoni tried not to react after the match, but at the conference he couldn’t control his emotions. And again the passion came out in form of tears. Many fans blamed on the team and players. But Dhoni was sad, because he knew the importance. But why they’ve to lose many things they’ve achieved so far because of only one single defeat? Why one defeat washes out all the great victories and achievements? Players don’t cry on their failure. But they cry because their failure upsets many hopes and expectations. But we must understand that it’s a game and victory and defeat are parts of game. One has to win and the other has to lose. But it doesn’t mean everything has ended. They will try again. They will rise again. They will stand over your expectation once again and yes there is a still hope of winning. Because they may have lost the matches or the worldcup, but they’ve won million hearts with their amazing performance on Cricket field.

They deserve to be resepected. They deserve many things that we couldn’t give them. But there is one thing that we can give them is appreciation. Appreciate them for what they’ve done and hope for what they’ll do. Hope always survives. And one day they will definitely win. Just keep hoping. Victory comes to those who never loses hope.

And let’s hope that a better team may win in the final match of ICC Cricket Worldcup 2015.
