Gita, how and what I understood it.(Part-4)
A true Supreme Soul in Vishwaroop Darshan Yoga and what is Bhakti Yoga?
True Supreme Soul in Vishwaroopa Darshan Yoga:
In the Vishwaroop Darshan Yoga of Gita, the lord shows
his universal form to Arjun’s soul and explains how universe is itself part of
supreme soul and how each soul on earth is connected to the supreme soul. He
says I’m the universe. He says I’m everything and nothing. I’m larger than
infinite and smaller than a cell of human body. I’m everywhere, in each
particle of this universe. I’m in good person and even in bad person. I’m best
in the best of everything. I’m the great archer Arjun and I’m Vasudeva Krishna.
All these indicate that the god, whom we try to find
elsewhere is nowhere but in each particle of universe. If our souls are parts
of the supreme soul, then he lives in that soul. He can communicate thorough
that soul. The god has no gender, no shape, no color. The god is from where
each soul starts its journey and where each of them ends their journey. The
nature itself is part of supreme soul. Universal form of god was nothing but
the reality of how the life wheel flows eternally. Each body has its own
perspective to find the god. Some find him in idols, and some find him in their
own souls. It’s just a matter of perspective. When the god is with us with our
soul, then why to find him elsewhere? What is definition of god? He is not a
person who could be found. He is not a thing which could be hunted. He is
nothing, but everything. When we decide something with pure heart and without
joining ourselves in mortal feelings of body, that decision comes from our
soul, and indirectly, from the supreme soul. And as we are convinced that the
supreme soul is the supreme god. So, when our heart is pure and our soul is
free from bounds of this mortal world, we are with the supreme god. A person,
who could see this truth, could easily recognize who the supreme soul is. He
would see supreme soul in each body wandering on the earth. He would see
supreme soul in each thing in this universe. He doesn’t need idol to worship.
Because his worship is his own Karma and true knowledge. And that’s the real
and easiest way to get god inside you. That’s what Arjun did. He then came to
know that Krishna was the fully enlightened soul, and he knew the soul which is
fully enlightened without help of another soul, must be the supreme soul
itself. And that’s why we see Krishna as complete god, with all powers and
knowledge.
The word divinity itself implies that it means
enlightened. The things we call divine, are the things which could be easily
recognized by enlightened soul. When a soul gets such true knowledge, and feels
itself free from the body and feel itself as a part of the supreme soul, it is
called an enlightened soul and it is too a supreme soul. As hand is called part
of our body and when we refer body, it includes our hand too. Similarly, when we
refer supreme soul, it means all the souls that makes the complete and supreme
soul.
The universal form was the view which shows how the
universe works. Lord says that that form has never been seen by anyone, and
Arjun sees it, because he was the best man on earth. He also says that this
Gita knowledge could be gained properly by few persons. And no one could gain
it better than Arjun, because his soul has that ability to enlighten itself. We
have too. But for that, we have to leave those mortal feelings aside, so that
we could see our soul.
Bhakti Yoga:
Bhakti Yoga, actually explains the ways to worship gods, which are various for people according to their beliefs. Few people worship idols, few worship through Chanting, few worship by fasts, few worship by knowledge, and few like Arjun, worship by dedicating results of all Karma to supreme god. Now as I explained above that god is nowhere, but inside our heart, then the question might rise in your mind, why we worship idols, and chant the hymns and shlokas, etc?
Well, here is the answer. Let me ask you a question,
would you remember all these what you understood in Gita for your entire life?
Do you remember everything you have read in past? No. You need to revise those
things. Similarly, idol worshipping is a widely accepted way to remind your
soul what your real aim is. It is a reminder to your soul that it shouldn’t
divert. It must keep faith in supreme soul and work. But clearly, today’s
generation has taken it differently. We’ve made idol worshipping our everything
that we forgot what actual god is. We have forgotten what the supreme soul is,
and how we can contact with it. We have made idol worshipping supreme way to
please god, which is not. We are just meant to keep faith in supreme soul with
our very breath. We are meant to do work for god, without expecting its fruit.
We are meant to do our Karma without got flowed in the feelings of mortal body.
And we can see what the world has become, can’t we?
Gita has taught us
everything to live our life happily and prosperously. Bhakti Yoga doesn’t say
that you must follow idol worshipping or mantras or chanting. It says you
should follow what you think is best for you. Scholars would always select
either way of knowledge (Sankhya Yoga), way of doing Karma without expecting
fruits (Karma Yoga) or dedicating fruits of our Karma to supreme soul (Karma
Sanyas Yoga). Few people like Karna, pleases the supreme soul through charity.
And his charity was unlike these people. His charity was from his pure heart. We
could gain knowledge and lessons of life from each character of the
Mahabharata. The epic has many characters with different characteristics and
they all teaches lessons for life. Positive characteristics of character
motivates us, and their negative characteristics teaches us not to repeat those
mistakes they did. I personally think if you want to learn what true life
should be, you must study the Mahabharata once. And you should also focus on
the Gita, which explains you to live your life in appropriate way.
I would like to explain more
about other parts of Gita, but since this knowledge would be enough for
readers, I would ignore writing them. Though, I would take my time to explain
characteristics of the characters from the Mahabharata, so that readers could
know each side of each character from the epic.
